What is VEW Transfers?

VEW Transfers is a secure file transfer portal for VEW Studio. It lets employees share large video files, project assets, and documents with clients — without using WeTransfer, Google Drive, or email attachments. Files go directly from your browser to secure cloud storage.

📤 Sending files to a client (e.g. final edit, EDLs, proxies)

1. Select or create the relevant Workspace (e.g. "GPSM Project")
2. Click My Files tab → Upload Files
3. Choose the folder (e.g. "FOR DI/LATEST") or create a new one
4. Upload your files — they'll appear in the folder tree
5. Click 🔒 Share on a file or folder → fill in client email → click Generate & Notify
6. The client gets an email with a link — they verify their email via OTP and download
Tip: Use folder names like dates (20260320) so clients can identify versions easily

📥 Receiving files from a client (e.g. camera rushes, raw footage)

1. Click + New Link → set type to Upload only
2. Add the client's email in Access control (so only they can upload)
3. Set an expiry (e.g. 7 days)
4. Copy the ⬆ Upload URL and send it to the client
5. Client opens the link, enters their email, receives OTP, then uploads
6. You'll get an email notification when files arrive
7. Open the link's 📁 Files button to see and download what they sent
Tip: Use the workspace to organise — all uploads land in the link's folder

🔄 Adding more files to an existing folder

1. Go to My Files → click Upload Files
2. In the Upload into folder dropdown, select the existing folder
3. Drop your new files — they'll be added to the same folder
4. The secure link you previously created will automatically include the new files (if it's a folder link)
Note: Per-file secure links only cover that specific file, not new additions

👥 Collaborating with another employee

1. Create a Workspace for the project
2. Click the 👥 icon on the workspace card
3. Add the colleague's email — they must already be in the allowed emails list
4. They'll now see the workspace and all its links and files in their dashboard
This prevents duplicate uploads — both people work in the same workspace

📥 Receiving files from VEW Studio

1. Client receives an email from VEW Studio with a secure link
2. They click the link → enter their email address → receive a 6-digit code
3. Enter the code → files appear with individual download buttons and a "Download All as ZIP" option
4. They can download individual files or the full folder as one ZIP
The link can only be accessed by the email addresses specifically added — nobody else can download

📤 Uploading footage to VEW Studio

1. Client receives an upload link from VEW Studio
2. If the link is OTP-protected: enter email → receive code → verify
3. Optionally: select an existing folder (to organise multiple upload sessions)
4. Optionally: enter a package/project name
5. Drop files or select a folder — upload progress is shown per file
6. After upload, their files are listed — they can delete before confirming
Large files (camera rushes) go directly to cloud storage — they don't go through email or a slow server
